Harrogate Spring Flower Show Blooming Marvellous

With everything from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang to `What a wonderful World` themed exhibits from NAFAS, the 2008 Spring Flower show is proving to be absolutely spot on www.flowershow.org.uk  . Southside`s very own garden design expert Sally Tierney www.sallytierney.co.uk left husband Henry in charge of her display whilst guiding  Southside managing editor Alex Lewczuk round a fraction of the exhibitors from award-winning Bettys tea room displays through Rob Hardy`s plantswww.hardys-plants.co.uk  & Chris Castling`s horticultural photography. Discussing the way of the garden designer with ANCH ( Advanced National Certificate in Horticulure ) student from the University of Lincoln Lyn Gould  www.lincoln.ac.uk was just one of the ways Sally added to the experience whilst her former college Askham Bryan www.askham-bryan.ac.uk  simply basked in the delight of another award winning event.PR/Event officer Mary Bond was on top form as usual 

With Helmsley`s walled garden wonderfully represented by Rhona Sutherland & the National Association of Flower Arranging by Pat Daley, it was no surprise that David`s Babyllon spirals- these days also featured on QVC- were so popular. Kew Gardens officially endorsed Hartley Botanic Greenhouse www.hartleybotanic.co.uk with Michael Thornley proved to be highly popular whilst the BCSS - British Cacti & Succulents Society were ably represented by David Johnston. Returning on Sunday with podcast producer David Eagle we left Sally to her display work whilst checking out the musical wonderments of the Bourbon Street Band, seeking advice from the Royal Horticultural Society, checking out plants with altitude, water features with wroot( ! ) and green roofs with Elizabeth J, The Bailey Family with their unique Faraway garden ornaments & the best in Horticultural fashion
